I grew up in Jamaica Plain in the '50s and 60s, and I had no idea that a real Stony Brook ran through the community. At some point I heard the name, but in the absense of any sign of water, it just wasn't worth thinking about. Now, with the help of the Jamaica Plain Historical Society web site, I've finally appreciated that there was something worth learning about - ol' Jamaica Plain actually has a history! I'll be using this blog to examine what I've learned, and try to add to what's out there on the subject.

Exploring Mysterious Stony Brook
I'm migrating this site from my ISP page to Google for technical reasons. It's a pain, but it needs to be done. I'll just transfer everything as I originally presented it.
